Our Pastor

David Hanson David W. Hanson had the privilege of being raised in a Christian home in Fairland, Indiana, a small town near Indianapolis. He along with his five sisters was taught the Scriptures from infancy by his parents in the home and through the ministry of the Reformed Presbyterian Church of Southside Indianapolis. David sensed God's calling him to the pastoral ministry from a very young age, and this call has shaped his life's direction. After graduating from Purdue University in 1998 with a degree in accounting, David worked as a tax accountant for 2 years during which time he married Ruth Faris, the best decision he ever made. In Fall 2001, David and Ruth moved their young family to Pittsburgh in order for David to pursue theological training at the Reformed Presbyterian Theological Seminary. Before coming to State College in 2005, David served as Associate Pastor in the Bloomington RPC for two years where his energies were focused on campus ministry, shepherding, and community outreach (particularly through playing softball). David and Ruth have 7 children: Miriam, William, Timothy, Megan, John, Joel and Suzanne.
